I am quickly getting a post up of my Spring/Easter mantle reveal in order to link up to the Spring Fling Mantle Challenge (since I wouldn't bother doing a mantle if it weren't for a little poke)
Because the large mirror is affixed semi-permanently to the wall as an earthquake precaution, I always have to work around it.
This year I wanted my mantle to be a little more Christ-centric so I featured this embroidery piece:
A cross I made and stained with lumber in my garage:
And a "He Is Risen" burlap banner I made using Steam A Seam:
I wanted to steer away from the loud colors of plastic eggs and Easter grass so I took my lead from the burlap and made a few twine wrapped eggs:
And I had to feature my spray painted pinto beans I made previously, some of which I glued onto Styrofoam egg forms.
The rest of the mantle features things I found at the dollar store:

The rest of the mantle features things I found at the dollar store:
Grapevine Wreath: $1 and Silk Flowers: $1 |
Two $1 vases spray painted & filled with five $1 flower sprigs |
Garland made out of 2 packs of $1 doilies |
Or stuff I already had:
A $3 bunny from Christmas Tree Shoppe I already had in my Easter stuff |
A quilt I made for E's nursery when she was a newborn:
I spent about $12 and 4 hours painting everything, sewing the banners and putting it together.
All in all, I am very happy with it.
Have a wonderful Easter!
Welcome Spring!
