This is my second school valentine post of the year, but that is because I have 2 school aged kids exchanging valentines, so we have to keep coming up with ideas. This is what we came up with for the second grader to hand out:
Just like the race car valentines (which was the choice of my kindergardener) this is another “what can make out of stuff we found at the dollar store” type of creation.
This time we used small bags of party favors in the shape of tiny gold trophies. Because they came 4 to a bag, it worked out to only 25 cents each.
If you don’t have a dollar store nearby, or they don’t carry these, you can find them online for about the same price or they have alternative versions, many of which are just as inexpensive.
Next I found a stock photo of an awards certificate and customized it in photoshop. Then I cut around the outside, using the print and cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo.
Exactly like we did for the race cars, we cut out card stock for a backing and punched a hole int the corner so we could tie on the miniature trophies.
These went really fast, and we turned out 30 of them in less than an hour.
Inexpensive, easy and fast to make? I think we’ve found a winner!!
