We had to attend a birthday party last weekend and although we were able to secure a gift using a gift card on Friday, we didn't have any child's gift wrap lying around.
What we did have were sheets of packing paper, some tempura paint and a crisper full of veggies.
Just like I remember doing back in elementary school, it was veggie stamping time.
We tried three different veggies:
The base of celery stalks (which look like flowers):
Potatoes (I cut a star pattern into them):
And carrots (which are little circles):
I laid the paper on the floor and just let the kids go at it and here is what we ended up with:
