I did it! I finished a project that has been hanging over my head for.. I dunno.. 6 months! I finally have some privacy in my master bedroom!! If you saw my first post you know I didn't have a door between my master bedroom and my craft room which led to this dilemma:But ALL OF THAT HAS CHANGED!! Why the sudden motivation? Well, I wanted to complete it in time for the UFO challenge. (If you want to share a UFO you finally completed, feel free to link up too!)
A fabulous team from Home Depot came out and installed the actual pre-hung doors, and I finished them with door molding and hardware. (I am so glad I let the pros hang the doors, since the opening was not standard, the walls were not square and there was water damage to the floor which made the install take nearly 5 hours!!) I ordered the doors primed but not painted and I had to deal with that too. Once again I went with Martha Stewart's Glass of Milk:I love how it came out. I can now close the doors to the bedroom and sew into the wee hours of night:And if I close off both sets of doors I have complete privacy. It officially makes my sewing room into its own space and not an extension of the bedroom or hallway.
And I have already had a chance to test it out. My kids are going to have to practice their knocking skills:
You may have noticed the paint chips hanging on the wall next to the door. Why yes, it is another UFO. I still have to finish painting both the walls and oak built-ins in this room. Baby steps right?
