I confess, I am addicted to the bulk bean bins at the farmer's market. I can't help myself. So when I saw the red lentils with their rich orange color I knew exactly what I was going to do with them.
As I have for Easter and again at the Memorial Day, I am once again using low cost bulk beans as holiday vase filler for centerpieces and mantlescapes.*
To get the black vs. orange look I used alternating layers of black beans and red lentils.
I also through a few great northern beans in one vase to add another color and larger texture:
As a cluster on the table atop some fake dollar store leaves, they are pretty cute.
HAPPY HALLOW-BEAN!
*What? Doesn't everyone use the word "mantlescape" in daily conversation?

I love your bean-in-vase ideas. I haven't done this yet but I am going to look for lentils tomorrow. And after Halloween? Toss it all in the crockpot with some ham and onion and voila! Dinner!
