I can’t believe my baby boy is already two. It seems like only a blink of the eye that I was announcing him to the world! To celebrate his birthday this past weekend, we threw him a little family party. I didnt’ want to go over the top since he doesn’t really understand the concept of birthdays, plus I know he won’t remember it anyhow.. but the girls wanted to do SOMETHING and so a party was in order.
In order to keep the cost under control, I headed to Dollar General and picked up 100% of the supplies that I needed. The decorations, the plates, the utensils, even the CAKE! When planning a party, it is easy to save on summer essentials with Dollar General!
The decor included paper streamers, balloons and crepe paper decorations.. all in blue and white.
I used a cake mix and pre-made frosting with fish sprinkles for the cake. We added a crab pool toy (I ran it through the dishwasher before adding it to the top of the cake!) and TWO birthday candles.
And the baby was pretty excited. The balloons were definitely his favorite, but the candles on the cake were a close second:
And once we cut into the cake he was on cloud nine! CAAAKE!!!
