If you are looking for an easy craft project that the kids will love, and that also could be turned into a great gift idea for mom, dad, grandma or grandpa, today's idea will be right up your alley.
I am going to show you how to create fun superhero inspired coffee cup cups that don't require ANY SEWING! That is right. These cuffs are made of felt, And the supplies are super inexpensive and easy to find, plus they are really forgiving, so much so that even kids can make them.
I made a short 2 minute video to show you the entire process, it is just that easy:
I have also included a free downloadable template for the superhero patterns, so you don't even have to google the shapes. EASY RIGHT?
Felt Superhero Cup Cuffs
Supplies:
Felt GlueFelt
Fabric Scissors
Paper Clips
Cardboard Coffee Sleeve
Superhero Logo Stencils (download below)
I used an cardboard Starbucks sleeve as my basic template. Depending on how large the cups are that you want to use these on, you can add or remove extra length on both ends.
I used a regular ball point pen to trace around the sleeve and then used my fabric scissors to cut it out.
I repeated the process for the superhero logos themselves.
I have included the outlines of all the superheros in a free printable pdf. Just print it onto cardstock and cut out the size you need as a stencil.
To attach the felt logo to the sleeve you want to use glue specific for felt OR hot glue. Regular white and fabric glue won't hold up to the heat.
You also can use the felt or hot glue to close the sleeve. To keep it together while the glue dries, I use paper clips to hold the two ends in place.
Don't remove the paper clips until the glue is completely dry.
The finished sleeves are adorable, and nothing screams "Coffee is my superpower" quite like the little superhero logos.
Would these be fun to make with the kids and give to dad or grandpa for Fathers' Day?
Or make the Wonder Woman version for mom on Mother's day. She deserves it!
