Recently my daughter was invited to a Harry Potter themed sleep over birthday and wanted a fun bag to bring her stuff. I’ve been working on a cross stitch design featuring all the Harry Potter icons and knew it would be easy to convert the original file into an SVG and that is exactly what I did!

I love how it turned out, and any individual element would be cute, but combined into a heart is perfection.


Of course, if you didn’t want to make something with HTV, this would be a great image for regular vinyl, or even split up the design and use the elements individually. So many possibilities!

Harry Potter Icon Collage Heart Tote:

Supplies:

SVG file
Tote Bag (This is the one I used)
Gold metallic HTV (I used Happy Crafters Shine in Gold Metal)
Cricut Explore Air 2, Maker or Silhouette Cameo with Cutting Mat (I used the Light Grip)
Easy Press
Pressing Board (I love this one which I also use for quilting)

Step 1:

Upload and resize your image. Remember if this is going to be used with HTV you need to MIRROR YOUR IMAGE!! 

Step 2:  

Cut and weed your vinyl.

Step 3:

Press and pre-heat your tote bag (according your Easy Press settings) on a hard surface (which is why I use my cut and press board)

Step 4:

Remove transfer sheet.  My vinyl called for a hot peel (removing the backer while it was still hot) so that is what I did. You need to follow your individual vinyl’s instructions. 
And now you have your final project. 
I love the gold on the dark blue tote. If you could find a maroon tote you could get a very “Gryffindor” look. The font is called “Harry P” and is available for non-commercial use.
