I have been having a blast over on Google+, discovering all sorts of new bloggers. Thanks to everyone who linked up to the Mommy is Coo Coo hop. Keep your eye out for the notification that the shared circle is available! If you haven’t linked up yet.. there is still time! You have until the end of the weekend.
Now it is time for Flashback Friday!
To tone down the super pinky-ness of the room, I installed board and batten (the first time I ever did it). Because of the textured walls I had to install giant sheets of MDF. All the nitty gritty details including a breakdown of the $300 budget for the project can be found here.
Back in 2011 my youngest daughter was 2 and was still in a crib.. Of course now she is no longer using it (in fact, you can see I am using this crib for the new baby in his nursery). The girls now have bunk beds. Even the dresser in the photo above was made over for the baby.
The room is currently unrecognizable and actually needs a refresh. It is even on my list of ‘to do’ projects for 2014. The princess pink lasted a couple years, but as the girls have gotten older (and accumulated more stuff) the space needs a new layout and needs to now reflect their maturing tastes.
I am just not sure when I am going to get around to it. Time seems to fly by so quickly, and they are growing up so fast. I want to hold onto my little ‘princesses’ for a just a little longer.

Awww....makes me wish I had a girl, pink walls and all. The board walls are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute room.. .I remember having a pink room growing up but sure wasn't decorated this cute.
ReplyDeleteCute room Kim! My daughter is crazy about pink too. I like all the white you used to offset the pinkness. Good luck with the re-do when you get to it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute room you made, looks so sweet. :-) Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful room, Kim! Great job.
ReplyDeleteI love this room, the b&b was a great way to balance all the pink. They grow so fast! I'm also thinking on re-doing my son's room, it's still sporting the Thomas the tank engine theme from when he was 4! He is now 11, a middle-schooler and his love for trains is long gone :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Debra!
ReplyDeleteThanks Hilda. I just hope they don't pink purple next! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is because our moms didn't have pinterest! *wink*
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura!
ReplyDeleteI do love the pink and white board and batten walls. But everything always needs to be changed and updated don't they? I just finished my little girl's room {it only took me five months}!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Easter~
